Now for most people who don’t know, (who are you people!?) Amitabh Bachchan is India’s biggest actor. He’s also been a politician as Member of Parliament and close friend and confidante of the late Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi.

For those of you who do know, Amitabh Bachchan is HUGE – Not only is he charismatic, intelligent, a legend at a level never seen before, a fantastic actor, but also a dude.

Yes, for most of us – Amitabh is a legend. He’s The Actor. He is Bollywood. He is India.

But I disagree.

Amitabh is no more a legend. Amitabh WAS a legend in the 1980’s. He’s beyond a legend now.

Amitabh Bachchan is now a philosophy.

If I want to tell someone to act well, I’d say act – like Amitabh Bachchan.

If I want to tell someone, see a man adapt to different roles, I’d say adapt – like Amitabh Bachchan.

If you have good diction and a good voice – you have it – like Amitabh Bachchan.

You should go to work on time – like Amitabh Bachchan.

You’re bankrupt, you’ve lost face not just among your neighbours – but in the entire country. Be strong – like Amitabh Bachchan.

And if you’re like most people who go bankrupt and walk away from their debts, that’s normal. But you should do the honourable thing and repay all your debts, inspite of going bankrupt – like Amitabh Bachchan.

And when you reached such a low, and you bounce back in style, you’ve done it – like Amitabh Bachchan.

And when you’ve been in the acting profession all your life, finally making way for the new, stepping back and taking on more character based roles – where each one of those roles have given hits and all the new stars movies are flopping, you’ve pulled it off – like Amitabh Bachchan.

Inspite of achieving global recognition, cult-like adoration, awards, fame, glory, people worship you, colleagues look up to you, you must retain your humility and be thankful for everything you get – like Amitabh Bachchan.

And when you’ve worked hard, and enjoy the fruits of your work – like getting the best of cars, watches – enjoy it – like Amitabh Bachchan.

Ageing gracely yet always smooth, always cool, always with ‘ada’ – like Amitabh Bachchan.

One can go on and on about the man and his many qualities that one would like to emulate. A legend? No.. A philosophy.
